It can be difficult to choose which town or beach is the most gorgeous but luckily, each coastal region has something to offer. America Domani has put together a shortlist of incredible beaches to visit in the region of Liguria, home to Genoa and the Cinque Terre.
Paraggi
Paraggi is a bay between the resort towns of Santa Margherita Ligure and the beach is renowned for its turquoise waters and sandy beach, the only of its kind near Portofino.
Baia delle Favole
Translated to “Bay of Fairy Tales,” this area features a small port, sandy and pebbly beaches where you can catch a ferry to the resort towns of Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure, or to the national park of the Cinque Terre.
Baia dei Saraceni
The Baia dei Saraceni is a serene bay with crystal clear waters and a strip of white sandy beach where visitors can go snorkeling and kayaking.
Camogli
Camogli is a fishing village and resort town located on the west side of the peninsula of Portofino. Sparkling blue waters lap at the shores of a pebbled beach overlooked by the town’s colorful buildings.
Varazze
Varazze, an ancient fishing village turned lively coastal resort town, boasts a marina, historic center, and plenty of sandy beaches with crystalline waters where visitors can also charter boats for day trips on the ocean.
