- It is home to the Fortore River, which divides the Italian regions of Molise and Campania.
- The great-grandparents of Ariana Grande, Antonio Grande, and Filomena Lavenditti, immigrated from Gildone to America in 1912.
- To this day, Grande remains one of the most common last names in the village.
