Robert De Niro has children ranging from 51 years old to newborn and according to an interview with ET Canada, when asked about his six children, De Niro was quick to correct them. "Seven actually…I just had a baby,” he said.
De Niro had his first child in 1971 when the actor was married to Diahnne Abbott. He adopted Abbott’s daughter, Drena, who is now 51 years old. Several years later, he and Abbott had their first biological child together, Raphael. Roughly twenty years later, De Niro had a set of twins, Aaron and Julien with his then-girlfriend, Toukie Smith. After his marriage to Grace Hightower, he fathered two more children, Elliot and Helen, who are now 25 and 11 years old.

De Niro’s rep confirmed the new child in a statement to The Associated Press, but both De Niro and his representative released no further details. It is rumored that the mother is De Niro’s current girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, who was seen exiting the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica. A photo shows De Niro leading Tiffany, who looks to have a baby bump, into a car. The pair met back in 2015 while on the set of The Intern but reconnected in 2021.
The topic of fatherhood and children came up during an interview with ET Canada that ties to his newest movie, About My Father, playing the eccentric father to Sebastian Maniscalco. De Niro confessed that he isn’t “the cool dad,” saying, “I’m Ok. You know, my kids disagree with me at times, and they’re respectful. My daughter, she’s 11, she gives me grief sometimes.”
When asked what the best way to guide kids is, he stated, “there’s no way around it with kids.” De Niro revealed that he doesn’t like to lay down the law, “But, sometimes, you just have no choice, and any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do right by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes you can’t.”
About My Father hits theaters May 26th.
