Stunning Locations For A Destination Wedding In Italy

It’s hard to think of a more idyllic place to get married than Italy. From the picturesque Alpine views of the Dolomites to the glistening blue waters of Puglia, Italy offers a wide variety of landscapes that would make a gorgeous backdrop for your romantic day. If you’re considering a destination wedding, the Bel Paese is the perfect place to proclaim your love and even continue newlywed bliss with an Italian honeymoon. America Domani has compiled a list of some of the most beautiful places in Italy to celebrate your big day.

Puglia

Located on the “heel” of Italy’s boot, Puglia is a magical region filled with sunshine and sea. From historical masserias (fortified farmhouses unique to Puglia) to villas overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this region truly has a lot to offer and is growing in popularity as a wedding destination amongst foreigners. Some Apulian venues that we love are Masseria Potenti, Masseria San Giovanni, Leonardo Trulli Resort, and Castello Monaci.

The Dolomites

If you’re up for an adventurous, nature-filled wedding venue, the Dolomites is the location for you! This national park lies within the northern part of Italy, close to the Austrian border. While there are plenty of traditional options to choose from in this area, this is a wonderful area to host an intimate microwedding, as many of the popular locations for ceremonies, such as Lake Braies or Val di Funes, often involve some hiking.

Lake Como

If timeless and chic is the wedding theme, Lake Como is the perfect destination. Many celebrity couples have chosen to have their weddings at the gorgeous lake, like John Legend and Chrissy Teigen as well as John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. Characterized by lush scenery and elegant architecture, some of the most popular venues in Lake Como include Hotel Villa d’Este, Villa Balbiano, and Villa Pizzo. However, if you’d like to get married at Lake Como in the near future, act fast. These venues are often fully booked out up to two years in advance!

Tuscany

One of the most popular Italian regions to host a wedding is Tuscany and with good reason. The rolling hills, delicious food, and rustic villas offer the quintessential rustic charm of Italy for your perfect day. Due to Tuscany’s production of wine and food products, it’s incredibly enticing to get married at a winery or agriturismo (farmhouse) for the incredible scenery and food. Some wedding venues in Tuscany to consider are Villa Pozzolo, Il Rigo Agriturismo, Villa La Foce, and Borgo della Meliana.
