In December, Jordan Brand opened its first Air Jordan concept store in Milan.
Jordan World of Flight, a new retail destination powered by Jordan Brand, has opened its first-ever location in Milan.
The focus of the Milan store is its surrounding community. Its design incorporated inspiration from local artists and the area’s connection to the basketball culture that Jordan Brand represents. Jordan World of Flight Milan is a 363-square-meter premium retail destination located at Via Torino. The store opened on December 16, 2022, and carries footwear and apparel for men, women, and kids.
Although they only opened recently, “sneakerheads” are finding their way to Jordan’s new shop in Milan.
NBA legend, Michael Jordan, wore his first pair of Jordans in late 1984. The original Air Jordan sneakers were released to the public on April 1, 1985. Jordan went on to collect six NBA championships, six NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophies, and five NBA regular season MVP awards. He was a 14x NBA all-star. On July 28, 2022, Jordan Brand released the 37th edition of the basketball shoe the Air Jordan XXXVII.
Ironically, the lure of Jordan Brand sneakers may have its roots in Italy. Playing in a Nike-sponsored exhibition game in Trieste on August 26, 1985, Jordan shattered the glass backboard with a thunderous dunk. The shoes Jordan wore during the game were auctioned in August 2020 and sold for $615,000, a record for a pair of sneakers.
