CNN Cancels “Searching for Italy,” Tucci Hopes for a Season 3

Although "Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy" won an Emmy award in 2021, the show has faced terrible news.

On Wednesday, Stanley Tucci took to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and broke the news about his original nonfiction show. Tucci said, "Unfortunately, CNN has canceled all of their original programmings." He continued by saying, "So hopefully we'll end up on another streamer, network — we don't know." Tucci further expressed that he has plans to do a season 3 and more, but would need a new network to host the show.

According to CNN, "Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy" was one of their most successful shows. The show has won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series. While "Searching for Italy" may have been axed, CNN plans to continue their partnership with Tucci, with him as an executive producer for "Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico."

"Searching for Italy" first premiered in February 2021 and followed Tucci as he explores his Italian roots, as well as highlighting the many diverse aspects of Italy's culinary culture.
