Knotfest Coming to Bologna June 2023
American heavy metal band Slipknot is taking their intense style to Italy, and they are bringing one of the biggest hard rock and metal concert events in the world with them.
The June 25, 2023, show at Bologna Arena Parco Nord in Bologna will mark the first Italian edition of Knotfest, the annual music festival the band created in 2012. Supporting the Iowa-bred band at Knotfest Italy will be Architects, Amon Amarth, I Prevail, Lorna Shore, Nothing More, and Destrage. Knotfest’s "dark carnival experience" has circus big-top tents, pillars of fire, amusement park rides, burlesque performers, firebreathers, stilt walkers, drum circles made of junkyard cars, and graffiti walls. Knotfest has operated as both a touring and destination festival in several countries including the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, Mexico, Colombia, and France.
Formed in 1995, Slipknot has been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards, winning in 2006 for Best Metal Performance on their “Before I Forget” album. They have released seven studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, one demo album, twenty-seven singles, five video albums, and twenty-seven music videos. As of 2019, the sometimes controversial band has sold 30 million records worldwide
